I'm a huge fan of travelling light—and smart. I used to be the kind of person who would take a week to pack, but after being on several trips and reading countless articles and watching countless videos, I've learned that there are better ways to pack that will help me save time and space and make the experience all the more fun and less stressful.

Books to Inspire You to Travel

Books have inspired me in so many ways. Not just to try to write my own stories or to use writing as a means of expressing myself, but as I mentioned in a previous post, my love for travel was born out of my love for books.

Note: This is not enough to count all the blessings I have received in a lifetime and the blessings I receive everyday. But it is a list from my heart, a list of gratitude for all the people, circumstances, blessings in my life. My Life According to Literature (2015)

Oh my word! This has been so much fun to do! Huge thanks and shout out to Kara from Flowers of Quiet Happiness. I think I'm going to be doing this every year starting forward. And, just like Kara, I did this for my 2015 reads only because 2016 has just begun and my reading list is quite short and everything else would take forever for me to decide which ones to put.

Top New Books I Read in 2015

I've read a great deal interesting books this 2015. Some were old (which I did not include in this list because Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery would win. Every Time.) and some were new. Some I liked a great deal and some I didn't. Here are my favorites for the year (in no particular order):

Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay will probably always hold a special place in my heart and in my favorites list. Think Jane Austen's Emma meets Jean Webster's Daddy-Long-Legs. Cue in the warm feels and reading this in one day over a cup of tea. I know I read it in one day because I couldn't put it down. Every letter I read from Samantha to Mr. Knightley made me curious to know more about her. Of course, since I've read both Daddy-Long-Legs, I knew who the mysterious "Mr. Knightley" was right away, but that did not make the book any less pleasant or interesting to read.

Things to Do Before Visiting Another Country

It's a couple of weeks before I embark on my next adventure in another place. Needless to say, I'm excited, as I always am, when It's time to explore a country I've never been to before.

Nevertheless, one mustn't let excitement get in the way of practicality when preparing for a trip. There are several things I always check, double check and re-check when I take a trip (whether locally or internationally).
