I chanced upon The Chocolate Kiss again last Saturday—a delightful little café situated in one of the cosier corners of Bahay ng Alumni in U.P. Diliman. I'd only been there once or twice and for cakes (that are absolutely delicious, by the way), so this was my first time to taste their savory dishes.
I had beef tapa (one of my all-time favourite dishes), Dad had Hainanese chicken, Mom had daing na bangus (her favourite), and Jemi had Salisbury steak.

After the first few bites, we all came up with the same conclusion: the food is so good and worth the price we paid for it. The staff was very friendly and attentive (shout out to Tony who waited on us hand and foot to make sure that we had anything and everything we could possibly need), and delivered our order as soon as possible so we didn't have to wait so long and hypothetically die if starvation while waiting. The café furnishings aren't that much, but you're there to eat and, what it lacks in one of the human senses, it makes up for in the rest.
The cakes. We ordered their Chocolate Kiss Suite where you can sample four of their classic cakes. Kahlua, you are my love forevermore with your liquer and your mocha. And the sans rival is to die for and encaptures its literal meaning: without rival—as it has just the right touch of crispy and chewy with just the right amount of butter.

As the floorball games are no longer in season (that's why we've always gone to UP for the past several Saturdays now), we don't have an excuse to visit the campus and try out the other restaurants, cafés, canteens. But then again, who says you need an excuse anyway?
